What makes us stand out from other companies?
The answer to this is very simple!
We believe that the vast majority of people prefer to have their windows cleaned the traditional way, where they can see the finished results straight away.
Traditional Window Cleaning is a dying trade, and you will have to look far and wide to find an established company of our size offering our levels of organisation, customer service, insurance and guarantee, yet still clean windows traditionally.
Waterfed pole cleaning has its place, and we do use this method occasionally but only to clean windows that cannot be accessed to be cleaned by hand. For example windows above conservatories or third storey windows.
But at Rainford Window Cleaning, if the window can by cleaned by hand safely, it is cleaned by hand, using Ladders and a Squeegee.
How do we keep our team and customers safe?
The Heath and Safety of our team and our customers is our top priority!
Fully Trained Staff
All of our staff complete a wide range of training courses at induction and yearly after that. All aspects of Health and Safety are covered. Most importantly for our business this includes courses on the use of ladders and step ladders, and working at height. Training doesn't end there! Staff are not permitted to use ladders until they have received full on the job, real world training and they can demonstrate competency.
Health and Safety Consultation
We invest in the services of Citation, one of the country's leading firms, for all of our Health and Safety (and HR) consultation needs. As well as providing the online training for the team, they help guide us to make sure that all of our practices are safe and legal. They also help us to make sure that our documentation such as risk assessments and method statements are up to date. Their system makes sure that all of our staff have read and signed our health and safety documents and policies. Their service includes 24/7 access to Health and Safety consultants, and we receive an annual Health and Safety site visit from one of their consultants to double check we are doing everything correctly and to give us an action plan for the coming year.
Regular Inspection of Ladders and Step Ladders
- All of our ladders are checked for defects weekly and logged. Staff members are trained to look out for defects. Ladders with defects are taken out of service immediately and replaced.
- We use non slip rubber feet on all of our ladders. These feet are changed as soon as they are becoming worn.
- We only use ladders that are specifically made for trade use (E131 standard)
Ladder Mitts
These are foam pads that are placed at the top of our ladders. These create extra friction at the top of the ladder, significantly reducing the chance of the ladder slipping.
Ladder mitts have the added benefit of caring for your property, eliminating the risk of scratching window sills, or damaging render or upvc cladding.
Correct Footwear and Weather appropriate uniform.
All of our staff wear non slip footwear, and uniform to suit all weathers, all provided by the company.
Adverse Weather Conditions
We do not work in weather conditions which would make ladder use unsafe, particularly in windy conditions.
Waterfed Pole
We are traditional window cleaners, but we do have waterfed pure water pole systems in our vans. We use this to clean windows that simply cannot be reached safely with ladders. Examples of this are:
- Windows above conservatories
- Windows above extensions with steep pitched roofs or delicate roof tiles
- Third storey windows.
